The fitness bug
In high school, my world changed. During PE
class, we had a choice: team sports or the
weight room. I was 5’7” and weighed 120
pounds, so I started lifting. I focused on getting
as big and as strong as I possibly could. Yes, I
succeeded.

I continued training through college, focusing
more on holistic fitness and wellness. I
studied biochemistry and nutrition and created
what would ultimately become the Fuel Right
Diet. The summer after graduate school, I
worked at a local gym where I continued to
expand my knowledge of fitness. I began
studying yoga and experimenting with different
martial arts
martial arts disciplines, I talked to trainers and watched people exercise, learning
as much as I could on how to train more effectively. Before long, people were asking
me to help them work out correctly.

I love fitness and helping others lead stronger, healthier lives. I feel like I've always
been a trainer and coach. I've been living and breathing fitness and wellness for
years. I worked in corporate America for several years doing internal audits. Though
I enjoyed the work, audit is not my passion. Even when I was working full-time as an
auditor, I was helping people get healthy and be more fit whenever I wasn’t working
my audit job. Last year I was finally able to turn my passion into my full-time career.
Today, I have a full roster of private clients and lead weekly fitness classes. It's the
best thing I have ever decided to do for myself!

Personal info
I love all kinds of music. My favorite artists include Elvis, the Ramones, and Chet
Baker. I'm a huge Boston Red Sox fan. I enjoy cooking and making recipes healthy.
My biggest vice is sugar! I love sweets … especially brownies. My favorite foods are
sushi, enchiladas, and a really good cheeseburger.  I’m a voracious reader and
love learning new things about all sorts of topics. I’m currently studying Spanish and
learning how to play the guitar. My biggest luxury is coffee. My idea of a perfect day is
one that includes books, music and coffee. I am fortunate to share my life with an
amazing woman, my wife Corrie – who drives me to better every day – and our three
“children,” our pets, Baby, Allie, and Rose.

About me (Will!)
Hi, my name is William Shoucair, “Will” to my friends. I’m an ACE-certified personal
trainer in Austin, Texas. My love affair with fitness began years ago ... and I haven’t
always been fit. I've been living in Austin since 2005, but I grew up in New Orleans. My
introduction to fitness took place when I was nine and my mother dragged me (yes,
dragged me) to my first martial arts class. I lasted 20 minutes. I wouldn’t touch fitness
again for five years.
